Turkish company to open starch factory near Constanta.

Turkish company Tosmur Group announced that it would invest EUR 204 million in a starch factory in Medgidia, in Constanta county (Romania).

The plant called Omnia Europe will become operational in 2019. It will produce 60,000 tons of maltodextrin to meet the current and future demand for quality food products for children.

The factory will also have a capacity of production of 40,000 tons of crystalline fructose. It will also produce glucose, fructose syrup, corn starch, and dextrose monohydrate.

“Nowadays we are holding shares in Tat Nisasta, a leading Crystalline Fructose producer (LevoSweet), and we are also involved in PET, caviar, real estate and more,” said Fatih Tosmur, the group’s president.
